Muthoni Drummer Queen (MDQ) is a genre bending artist, a global creative entrepreneur, and an audacious systems thinker who builds at the intersection of culture and infrastructure, turning creative vision into movements, and creative movements into viable enterprise. At the heart of her practice is a deep commitment to building bridges between art and infrastructure, creativity and commerce, vision and viable systems. As the founder of the premier events and festivals business In East Africa, she has built a scalable model that generates meaningful opportunities across the entire music value chain, while her skilling and training program – perFORM Music Incubator- is providing the skills, network and opportunities necessary to develop a professional and sustainable music industry in Africa. Whether she is making and presenting music, building platforms, business models, or skill pipelines, Muthoni’s pioneering work is powering Africa’s creative economy and reimagining what it means to be a working artist, and what is possible for the creative economy.

 HSKE (Hottest Songs From Kenya),   is a sub-brand under perFORM Music Incubator and is the record label arm of the Music Incubator program. HSKE’s purpose is to support artists to create and release works to a wide audience.As a boutique record label, HSKE focuses on discovering hidden gems within the Kenyan music industry, providing them with the right support to create and release music. Through a donor funded program, HSKE offers a platform for these talented artists to experience a specialized curriculum aimed to define their brand, enhance their skills, expand their reach, create and promote their music. This enables artists and participants  to launch sustainable careers in the Kenyan music industry. HSKE is passionate about nurturing talent and connecting artists with opportunities to reach a broader audience

Perform Music Incubator

perFORM is a music business and artistic development incubator. Founded in 2019, the program focuses on enabling music industry practitioners in Africa to Filter, Order, Refine, and Master the artistic and business skills required to build a sustainable music enterprise.

perFORM trains passionate individuals across seven disciplines within the music ecosystem, namely: Artists (Singers, Songwriters, Music Producers), Artist Managers, Publicists, Event Producers, Music Producers, Sound Engineers, & Lighting Engineers. Each program focuses on developing skills, networks, and opportunities for the music industry in Africa.
